At 4590 Drane Field Road, in Lakeland's industrial corridor near Lakeland Linder, the city issued a permit for an interior buildout of a commercial building in June 2026. The work is valued at about $311,900 and is owned by Norman Family Limited Partnership. Two smaller electrical permits at the same address cover low-voltage data cabling and an access-control system.

Several other records were grouped with this one because they sit along the same road, but they appear to be separate projects. At 4930 Drane Field Road, a partial demolition and rebuild is in review with Polk County: the applicant describes tearing down a water-damaged 1,500-square-foot office and rebuilding a two-story office on the same footprint, plus adding cover to a concrete area beside the warehouse. A separate stormwater permit modification for an 18.6-acre "Drane Field Distribution #2" project is on file with the water district.

The records do not name a tenant or a single unified plan, so the most that can be said with certainty is that commercial activity is picking up along this stretch of Drane Field Road.
