City of Lakeland upgrades electrical substation on Glendale Street

The City of Lakeland has issued permits for work at 1825 Glendale Street, including a new electrical building and two site generators. Building permits were filed in August 2024 and issued in October 2025, with a combined valuation of $1.25 million.
Separately, the Florida Department of Transportation has an adopted five-year work program item to construct an 801-meter bike path/trail along Glendale Street from New Jersey Road to Lakeland Highlands Road, scheduled for fiscal year 2026. The projects are geographically aligned but their connection is not documented.
