A small lot on Highway 540A is cleared for office use
Polk County commissioners changed the future land use on 1.35 acres near Highway 540A from suburban residential to office center.
A 1.35-acre parcel near Highway 540A has had its future land use designation changed from Residential Suburban-X (RSX) to Office Center-X (OCX). The change was requested by Tim Campbell of the Clark, Campbell, Lancaster, Workman & Airth law firm and moved through the county under case LDCPAS-2025-36, filed under names including "IT Land Investments CPA" and "Hwy 540A OCX CPA."
The Planning Commission recommended approval on June 3, 2026, and the Board of County Commissioners adopted the small-scale amendment on June 16, 2026. At the adoption hearing, Land Development Director Ben Ziskal said staff and the Planning Commission both recommended approval, no one spoke during the public hearing, and he confirmed the site is directly adjacent to a church.
The records cover only the land use change, which opens the door to office development. No specific building plans, tenants, or timeline are in the records.
