I-4 bridge over the CSX railroad is being rebuilt

FDOT is replacing the Interstate 4 bridge where it crosses the CSX railroad line, a roughly $33 million project now under construction.

The Florida Department of Transportation is rebuilding the stretch of Interstate 4 (State Road 400) where the highway crosses the CSX railroad. It's listed in FDOT's Five-Year Work Program as a bridge replacement, with construction managed out of the department's District 1.

The contractor is MasTec Civil LLC, working under contract T1035. FDOT lists the known contract value at about $33 million, with work spanning fiscal years 2023 through 2027. Records show the work began in April 2021, and the project is currently marked under construction.

What happens next

Work continues under MasTec's contract. FDOT records list an estimated completion in 2027; check SWFLRoads.com for current schedule and lane details.
