The I-4 and SR 33 interchange is being rebuilt and widened
Crews are widening the I-4 interchange at SR 33 and adding lanes along SR 33, with a wildlife crossing east of Epicenter Boulevard.
The Florida Department of Transportation is modifying and widening the Interstate 4 (SR 400) interchange at SR 33 north of Lakeland. The work adds lanes at the interchange, adds lanes and rehabilitates pavement along SR 33 from Old Combee Road to south of FirstPark Boulevard, and builds a pedestrian and wildlife underpass east of Epicenter Boulevard.
The project is under construction. Lane Construction Corporation is the contractor on contract T1899, with work beginning January 6, 2025 and an estimated completion in May 2029. The known contract value is about $118.4 million.
This is a state work-program item spanning fiscal years 2024 through 2026, managed by FDOT District One.
