A major reworking of the Interstate 4 interchange at State Road 557 in northeast Polk County, built by Skanska.
State transportation records list an interchange improvement where Interstate 4 (SR 400) meets State Road 557 in northeast Polk County. The work is a Florida Department of Transportation Five-Year Work Program item, carried out under a construction contract worth about $71.6 million.
Skanska USA Civil Southeast Inc. holds the contract. FDOT records show work began on August 17, 2020, with an estimated completion date of September 13, 2024. The project spans fiscal years 2023 through 2025 in the work program and covers roughly 3.1 kilometers of roadway across several segments.
The most recent status in the records is "construction complete." The stage below is capped at "Under Construction" because the site's stage labels do not include a completed option.
