The old Mobil on US 98 North is being rebuilt as a Kangaroo Express
A Mobil station at 3437 US 98 North has been torn down and rebuilt as a Kangaroo Express, with new fuel tanks, a repaired canopy, and fresh signage.
The gas station at 3437 US 98 North, owned by BNL Corp, has gone through a full makeover. City records show the old Mobil was demolished in mid-2025 (a $30,000 demo permit filed in May and issued in July), followed by a $279,000 fuel-tank replacement and piping job, a canopy repair, new site lighting, and electrical work.
The new brand is Kangaroo Express: permits cover illuminated wall signs on three elevations, a kitchen-hood fire-suppression system for the store, and a transit-stop bench out front. Most of these permits have been finaled, so the work appears largely complete.
Separately, the state has been rebuilding the pavement on US 98 (SR 700/35) right along this stretch β an FDOT contract with C.W. Roberts Contracting that began in late 2024.
