Lakeland Linder is planning a bigger terminal waiting area
The city has filed a concept plan to expand the passenger holdroom at Lakeland Linder International Airport.
Lakeland Linder International Airport, at 3900 Don Emerson Drive, has filed a concept plan to expand its terminal holdroom β the gate waiting area where passengers sit before boarding. The plan, submitted by Christopher Stinson, is described in city records as the "Lakeland Linder International Airport Holdroom Expansion." As of the latest records it sits at a "Pending Payment" milestone, meaning it is early in the city's review process.
The holdroom plan is part of a busy stretch of construction across the city-owned airport campus. Recent permits on the same parcel include a terminal admin renovation, exterior parking-lot canopies, the "Avelo Village" building, a Double M Aviation hangar, Amazon EV chargers, and fire-protection work tied to a "Sora Eatery" space.
Because the concept plan is still awaiting payment and review, its size, cost, and timeline are not yet public.
