The Marathon gas and convenience store at 933 W Pipkin Road in Lakeland may add a drive-through restaurant. In October 2025 someone filed an inquiry with Polk County's Development Review Committee asking about adding "a drive through restaurant expansion to the gas convenience store." That record is now marked complete, which means the county has given its early feedback — not that anything is approved or permitted.
The same store went through a Marathon rebranding in late 2024, with permits to update the fuel canopy fascia and swap out the old illuminated signs for new Marathon logos. Those building permits have since expired.
No restaurant name, size, or opening timeline is in the records. The drive-through is still just an inquiry at this point.
