The Florida Department of Transportation completed an intersection improvement project on State Road 540 spanning from US 17 to east of 1st Street in Lakeland. The work was contracted to Ajax Paving Industries of Florida and cost approximately $872,000.
The project was part of FDOT's Five-Year Work Program and ran through fiscal years 2023 and 2024, with actual construction taking place from April 2023 through May 2024.
