SR 540 resurfaced from Bartow Road to Polk Parkway

Lakeland-Bartow corridor

A state road resurfacing project on SR 540 between SR 35 and Polk Parkway has been completed.

The Florida Department of Transportation resurfaced approximately 4.1 miles of SR 540 from just east of SR 35 (Bartow Road) westward to Polk Parkway. The work was contracted to Hubbard Construction Company and cost approximately $5.55 million.

The project was scheduled in the FDOT Five-Year Work Program for fiscal years 2024 and 2025, with work beginning in January 2024 and an estimated completion date in October 2024.
