Statewide Electrical looking to relocate headquarters to Polk City

Electrical contractor exploring move from Lakeland to Highway 33 property.

Statewide Electrical Contractors, Inc., an established Florida electrical contractor, is exploring the relocation of its Polk County headquarters from Lakeland to approximately 12 acres on Highway 33 North in Polk City. The company, founded in 1996 and led by George Fernandez, would occupy about 3 acres with an owner-occupied office, warehouse, equipment storage, and business operations, with the remaining acreage continuing in agricultural or rural use.

The applicant is currently in pre-application discussions with the county to evaluate feasibility, zoning, environmental considerations related to the Green Swamp Area of Critical State Concern, and infrastructure requirements. Fernandez is a long-time Polk County property owner and also owns adjoining property with his primary residence on Voyles Loop.

What happens next

County will provide feedback on the proposed relocation's feasibility, zoning compatibility, and required entitlement process during the pre-application conference.
