Statewide Electrical Contractors plans Polk City headquarters relocation
An established electrical contracting company is exploring a move from Lakeland to a rural property north of Polk City.
Statewide Electrical Contractors, Inc., founded in 1996 and currently based at 4025 Pipkin Road in Lakeland, is in early discussions about relocating its Polk County headquarters to 9730 Highway 33 North in Polk City. The company's founder and president, George Fernandez, owns a 12.08-acre parcel and is evaluating using approximately 3 acres for an owner-occupied office, warehouse, equipment storage, and related operations.
The remaining acreage would stay in agricultural or rural use. Fernandez is a long-time Polk County property owner with the adjoining property, where his primary residence is located. The company has filed for a pre-application conference with the county to discuss feasibility, zoning, environmental considerations (the property borders the Green Swamp Area of Critical State Concern), infrastructure, and utilities.
