A warehouse and storage yard is being built on New Tampa Highway
Site work and building renovations are underway for a warehouse and trailer/storage yard along New Tampa Highway west of downtown Lakeland.
The properties at 3030 and 3070 New Tampa Highway are being turned into a warehouse and trailer/storage yard. City records show a site work permit issued in May 2026 (valued at about $1 million) tied to an approved site plan, along with an interior renovation permit that reopened window and overhead-door openings, a new roof, and a new electrical service for a water pump. The land is owned by entities named Lakeland Storage & Logistics LLC and Lakeland Storage 1 LLC.
A separate, newer site plan for a "Warehouse/Trailer Storage Yard" at 3030 New Tampa Highway (SIT26-012, filed by Zachary H. Thornton) was withdrawn. The active permitted work references an earlier approved site plan, SIT24-035, so construction here is moving ahead on that earlier approval.
A wetland determination filing recorded in the same area (a Southwest Florida Water Management District petition listed as "Publix Lakeland Deli Wetland Delineation Permit") sits close by, but it names a different applicant and project and may not be part of this development.
