A retail center on Lakeland Highlands Road is being reworked with a new drive-through coffee shop, a grocery store, a gym and medical space.
The shopping center along Lakeland Highlands Road, owned by Highlands Plaza Retail LLC, has seen a steady run of permits as new and reworked tenants move in. An Ellianos drive-through coffee shop was built new on the property (a $1 million commercial permit) and its signs have gone up. Nearby storefronts are being fitted out for Aldi #235, Planet Fitness and Highland MRI.
The records show a mix of new construction, interior demolition, remodels, electrical, fire-alarm and sign work spread across several addresses on the same parcel (from 2844 to 3010 Lakeland Highlands Road). Taken together, they point to a plaza being refreshed with multiple businesses rather than a single project.
Several permits are finaled, including the coffee shop and its signs, while others — interior demolition, a remodel and fire-protection work for Aldi and Highland MRI — were still active into mid-2026.
