The old Mobil station on US 98 N is being rebuilt as a Kangaroo Express
A Mobil gas station on US 98 N was torn down and is being reworked into a Kangaroo Express, with new fuel tanks, a repaired canopy and fresh signs.
City permits show the Mobil station at 3437 HWY 98 N, owned by BNL Corp, was demolished in mid-2025 and is being rebuilt as a Kangaroo Express convenience store and fuel stop. A demolition permit for the Mobil was finaled in August 2025, followed by a fuel-tank replacement and piping job, a canopy repair, new site lighting, a retaining wall, and a kitchen-hood fire suppression system.
The branding paperwork tells the rest of the story: a permit refreshed the Mobil sign face, and three illuminated Kangaroo Express wall signs were approved for the north, south and west elevations. A transit stop bench permit was also issued at the site.
Most of these permits are already finaled, so the work is well along. Separately, FDOT records show US 98 in front of the site is undergoing pavement reconstruction under a state contract.
