Lakeland Regional Health System is installing an underground fireline at its North Lakeland facility on Highway 98. The work involves fire suppression infrastructure on the 2.5-acre medical campus.
The environmental permit for the project was approved by the Southwest Florida Water Management District in August 2026, modifying an existing permit for the site. A commercial fire permit application was filed with Polk County in October 2026 and is currently under review.
