Publix has pulled a $23.5 million site-work permit for a warehouse and return center on County Line Road.
Publix is getting land ready at 2600 County Line Road, on Lakeland's west side, for a new warehouse and return center. The City of Lakeland issued a site-work permit on July 7, 2026 — the clearing, grading, and utility work that comes before buildings — valued at about $23.5 million, the largest construction value among the city permits collected over the past month.
The permit covers site preparation under a site plan the city has already approved. Building permits for the warehouse itself haven't appeared in the city's system yet. Gray Construction filed the application on July 1, 2026, and the property is owned by Publix Super Markets.
