SunTrax expansion moves forward in phases near Polk City
The Florida Department of Transportation is developing multiple phases of the SunTrax project across hundreds of acres near Polk City.
SunTrax is a large-scale project by the Florida Department of Transportation spanning multiple phases across the Polk City area. Environmental permits have been approved for Phase 2A (12 acres), Phase 2 and Phase 4/5 combined (175 acres), and Phase 4/2C (95 acres). An Auburndale site plan application for commercial development was approved in August 2026.
