The Central Polk Parkway is being built across central Polk County
A new toll road connecting the Polk Parkway (SR 570) to US 17 and on to SR 60 is under construction.
The Florida Department of Transportation is building the Central Polk Parkway, a new road stretching from the Polk Parkway (SR 570) to US 17 (SR 35) and continuing to SR 60. FDOT's work program lists the effort under item 440897 with a combined known contract value of about $391 million across two segments, both being built by Prince Contracting, LLC.
The first segment, from SR 570 to US 17, carries a contract value of about $256.5 million and began in March 2023, with an estimated completion of January 2029. The second segment, from US 17 to SR 60, is valued at about $134.5 million and started in September 2025, with an estimated completion of April 2030.
