Crews are modernizing an existing cell tower off Parkway Frontage Road North, adding a backup generator and fuel tank.
An existing communications tower at 1721 Parkway Frontage Road N, on land owned by CSX Corporation, is being modified and upgraded. Permits cover swapping out antennas and equipment on the tower, plus installing a 50kW LP backup generator and a fuel tank to keep the site running during power outages.
The work was filed across several permits through 2025. The current tower modification permit, the generator electrical permit, and the tank install permit were all issued in mid-November 2025. Two earlier related permits — an antenna upgrade and an earlier generator — are now listed as expired.
