Polk County code enforcement case search
Polk County code enforcement complaints are searched on the Code Enforcement tab of the Polk County Access Portal, by address, owner or parcel number, with no account.
Which office handles this address?
Not every case is there. The county's own FAQ says that once a complaint is investigated and closed as unfounded, or converted to a violation case (magistrate, nuisance or bulk waste), the information is not available to the public without an official public records request. It answers "how can I find out if there is a code enforcement lien on a property" with two phone numbers and an email address, not a search. Silence in the portal is not a clean record.
This page explains how a person searches. Lakelandmarks does not search, store or show code cases: they are about a home and a person, and the site's rules keep both off it.
How to search
- Open the Code Enforcement tab of the Polk County Access Portal (the link below). No account is needed; skip the sign-in.
- Under General Search, enter the street number and street name (or the parcel number from the Property Appraiser) and press Search.
- Open a case for its status. For a complaint that was closed as unfounded or became a violation case, and for any lien question, use the county's public records request or the phone numbers on its FAQ.
Steps checked October 2026, by opening the pages.
What the county does not publish online
- Complaints closed as unfounded, and complaints converted to violation cases (magistrate, nuisance or bulk waste): not available for public access without an official public records request, per the county's FAQ.
- Code enforcement liens: answered by phone or email, not by a search.

Inside a city
The county's portal covers unincorporated Polk County. Each city runs its own code enforcement: Lakeland's iMS has a guest Search Complaints page with a Primary Address criterion (open the Lakeland guide and use the Enforce menu); for the other cities the box above names the office and, where confirmed, who handles code enforcement there.
The county's own words
The two pages this guide relies on: the Code Enforcement FAQs (what stays offline, and the lien phone numbers) and the public records request page. Both were read on 7 October 2026 and are re-requested weekly.
The other lookups
Lakelandmarks is not affiliated with Polk County. The links and steps on this page were checked on 7 October 2026 by opening each page; the official link is re-requested every Monday, and which office covers an address is computed from the Polk County BoCC GIS municipal-limits layer fetched 7 October 2026. Spot a mistake? Email [email protected]. Nothing typed into the box is stored.
Sunday morning, five minutes, all caught up.
